Soroptimist International of The Verdugos is hosting its 2nd Annual Bowling for Boobies (B4B) on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Lucky Strike Bowl in Los Angeles to commemorate the 21st Anniversary Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Teams and participants are urged to sign up on the B4B web site (www.bowlingforboobies.com) no later than September 29 to take part in this exciting and competitive affair.

The proceeds raised from this event help Soroptimist International of the Verdugos provide monetary assistance to local women experiencing financial challenges as the result of fighting and living with breast cancer. Donations go directly to support these women who are overwhelmed with medical bills and their ongoing treatment. This year B4B will also donate a percentage of the proceeds raised to Katrina Hurricane Relief.

B4B begins with a commitment to organize teams of six people who raise a team goal of $600 (or $100 per person) for women who are fighting breast cancer. On October 6, 2005 (7:00pm to 9:00pm) all of the teams come together to submit their contributions and bowl at Lucky Strike in Hollywood. Teams and individuals are eligible for prizes in this high energy, social event.

Prior bowling experience is not required. The objective is to have fun while raising awareness and money for breast cancer.

Last year B4B earned more than $10,000 for its cause.
