www.FreeSpeechCoalition.com FSC To Host First-Ever Cross-Industry Summit On Piracy Tuesday, November 18 From 9am To 5pm The Sheraton Universal In Universal City, CA
From The Free Speech Coalition:
On Tuesday, November 18th, professionals from the adult entertainment industry will convene with their peers in the mainstream
film, music and videogame industries in a first-of-its kind summit about anti-piracy efforts and business opportunities in
the digital realm.
The by-invitation summit, entitled 'How to Survive and Thrive in the Digital Environment ... From the People Who Know,' will
offer words of wisdom from the trenches, featuring business and legal experts who are directly embroiled in dealing with the
complex mix of issues concerning ownership and lawful exploitation of copyrighted content in the digital age.
'Our industry is facing crucial business challenges and tremendous opportunities in the digital realm,' said Diane Duke,
executive director of the Free Speech Coalition, which is co-sponsoring the event with Jenner & Block LLP and Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp LLP. 'This summit grew out of
a need articulated by the members of the Free Speech Coalition to address what has become an increasingly more challenging,
yet potentially profitable, time for the adult entertainment industry as it relates to all aspects of the digital realm.'
Among the speakers scheduled to address the one-day conference are strategic leaders from mainstream entertainment companies
and trade groups who have developed legal theories and sound business practices that successfully challenge the piracy of
intellectual property while simultaneously capitalizing on the tremendous opportunities presented by the internet and related
technologies.
'As other entertainment industries' experience has shown, trade associations can play a critical role in protecting content
and maximizing opportunities through litigation, legislative efforts and business solutions,' Duke said.
The conference will occur from 9:00 am and 5:00 pm at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, CA. FSC members may
obtain invitations by contacting Duke or visiting the FSC website at FreeSpeechCoalition.com.
Established in 1991, the FSC is the trade association for the adult entertainment industry. Its mission is to lead, protect
and support the growth and well-being of the adult entertainment community.
