Demi Delia Wants To Let You Know About A Shifty Yankee/Pirate

Los Angeles, CA (January 26, 2009) - In what can only be described as a bizarre trail of impersonating a celebrity, harassment, fraud and identity theft, former New York Yankee Andy Phillips has been named in a wild Los Angeles harassment case.

According to a Police Report filed with the LAPD, over the course of several weeks, Phillips allegedly represented himself as no less that 4 different individuals. The week prior to Christmas 2008, during various email and telephone communications, Phillips claimed to be several individuals including former Yankee, now Cleveland Indian Carl Pavano, alleged Pavano agent Jordan Kapler, and the Philadelphia Phillies’ Greg Dobbs.

Phillips represented himself as each of these individuals in phone calls, email and text messages sent to Los Angeles resident Gina Rodriguez, who subsequently filed the Police Report and harassment suit.
Phillips, a former Yankee who is now married and currently with the Pittsburgh Pirate organization, originally got in contact with Rodriguez via a chance encounter over the telephone between Rodriguez and a man claiming to be Greg Dobbs of the Philadelphia Phillies.

The individual claiming to be Dobbs then had the occasion to introduce Rodriguez to former Yankee (now Indian) Carl Pavano by phone and email. As Pavano claimed his agent handled all his business dealings, he then put Gina in contact with alleged agent Jordan Kapler, who then offered her gifts on behalf of Pavano.

In various email and text communications during a business trip to the East Coast, Ms. Rodriguez had planned to meet with Pavano in New York City. Ultimately, it was Phillips, not Pavano, who showed up at Hotel 57 on December 29th. In the names of various individuals, including Kapler and Pavano, Phillips fraudulently made claims that automobiles and other gift items were being sent to Rodriguez by Kapler on behalf of himself, Andy Phillips.

Rodriguez says she has brought about this action in an attempt to alert all parties involved as Phillips continues to go to great lengths to impersonate these celebrated individuals who may or may not know about his fraudulent activities and behavior.

Rodriguez noted, “I am bringing these charges in an effort to expose Mr. Phillips, but also to alert these people, Mr. Pavano, and Mr. Dobbs, that this man is fraudulently representing them in a bold and lawless manner. It’s important that he be stopped.” Rodriguez was originally introduced to a man she was told was Carl Pavano in December by the man presenting himself to be Greg Dobbs.

In a related matter, Rodriguez associate Elizabeth Coleman was brought into the mix as alleged agent Jordan Kapler introduced her (Elizabeth) to WWE Wrestler John Cena in much the same fashion as Rodriguez had been introduced to various individuals. Consequently Coleman also filed a police report naming Phillips as the person perpetuating this fraud.
