Finally Made It

Sorry for the scant number of event posts over the past week or so. I drove to Las Vegas for the Exotic Dancer / StorErotica Convention (more on that coming soon from Tony Batman), then dropped by the Grand Canyon, the Phoenix monsoon (trees and drywall in the street), El Paso, Brownsville, Tampico, Villahermosa (the Olmec Park), Campeche (the old town) and the Maya Riviera, where I finally have enough energy and the DSL to get back to work. When you drive 12 hours a day, you don’t have much left in you at night to process press releases (or the internet access to post them).

I’m here in the Caribbean to do some new programming for the site, but I’ll still be updating event articles as well as giving this blog more prominent placement. Please send your events as usual - I’ll get to them.

I saw both Palin’s and McCain’s speeches on Canadian television over the past couple of nights. More on those two later.

Swam out into the reef this afternoon. There was little wind (it’s about 90 here), and few waves, so I decided to think like a big fish and follow the edge of a reef channel for a while: in a minute I was swimming with a juvenile nurse shark (only about six feet), a couple of jacks, a giant parrotfish and a curious sea turtle.

Then it was back to work.
